Torrential Data Solutions is now hiring interns for our software development staff. As a valued member of our team, you will work to support the efforts of the Torrential Data product development group. Opportunities are available during academic breaks, or part-time during the school year for those whose studies permit.
Our office is in Virginia Beach, near Lynnhaven Mall. During the COVID-19 epidemic, most developers are working from home. New interns are generally asked to spend a few weeks in the office to acclimate to the environment, then permitted to work remotely.
We don’t expect you to be a veteran programmer, so don’t worry if you have never used Microsoft Dynamics before. We do expect that you will bring an understanding of fundamental programming concepts to the table and be ready to gain some practical experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
One or more years of progress toward a Computer Science (or equivalent) degree
An interest in programming that is demonstrated by seeking programming or other IT experience outside of the classroom (you could participate in IT organizations, design a web page for your club, or contribute to an open source project)
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
Some of the technologies you will see are:
.NET and .NET Core (C# primarily)
Microsoft SQL Server
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (formerly AX) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly NAV)
Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio 2019
Interns at Torrential Data Solutions are compensated commensurate with academic level and experience and will work to develop our products with tasks that include:
Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and all other aspects of the software engineering process
Development of web service endpoints in C#
Development of C# server-based applications that support our product
Development of configuration tools and other utilities that support our product
